Hello from 2023. I'm not very good at keeping this news page up to date, but my goal is to check in more often as to keep information flowing.
To start, 2022 was a great year for my film company, Stereophonic Films. We ended up winning best music video and director in the
Idlly Wild International Film Festival for "Three Tequila Floor" by Josiah Siska (Black River Entertainment). A Huge accomplishment for a film company that's only been in existence for 2 years at that point. Also to our credit was winning the "Alan Parsons" award at the Scotland International Festival of Cinema for the music video we did for Eric Gales song "Stand Up". We also were able to complete music videos for local musicians The HawtThorns and Dylan Jarvis. So proud of the work we've been able to do in the short amount of time since we've established our company.
I'll check in again soon to follow up about music productions that I've been working as of lately.

Happy New Year to all.
last year oddly ended quite good for myself. I had the privilege to mix "The Jungle Show Live" for the band members Jimmy Vaughn, Billy Gibbons, Mike Flanigan, Sue Foley and Chris Leighton. It's a once a year concert that usually takes place at Anton's, but virtually this year.
2020 was a strange and interesting year and I expect 2021 to follow along, but hopefully with a more positive note!
So far it's been a good start.
My film company, Stereophonic Films, is gearing up for a busy spring. With Good Morning America in our pocket we look to being part of Belmont University's student showcases coming up. We will be responsible to for filming, recording audio and live streaming for 8 groups the first weekend while lightly mentoring a handful of students along the way. Here's a shot from the GMA shoot featuring Rich Redmond from the Jason Aldeane Band:

Hi friends!! even as this virus has crippled parts the music industry I stay positive that eventually we'll be back doing concerts, creating music in studios as normal. we just need to be diligent about social distancing and mask wearing. small price to pay for the sake of all humanity.
tough times coming up for sure with the big holidays upon us.
on another note, I have been lucky to be able to be part of many great projects in music and film this past month. earlier in the month I was able to get back into the studio with none other than Kyle Cook of Matchbox 20. he's currently in mode to revive his side project Rivers and Rust with a new round of tunes. if you love, rock, Americana, pop then you'll find these tunes delightfully relevant. check him out when you get a chance. I anticipate early next year he'll release his long awaited solo album too. check here for updates when they come in: www.kylecookmusic.com
I was also privileged to be part of a tracking session for Eddie Montgomery oil which we tracked 8 songs for his new solo album.
my film company , stereophonic films has also been busy. we were recently lucky to part of a Danny Gokey virtual concert event over the weekend. his fans were able to watch pre recorded live show and then interact with him virtually on YouTube.
more exciting film shoots coming up in the next couple of weeks. I will chime in once we are finished. until then stay in good spirits.

It's been a tough year so far with the pandemic taking a toll on the touring music industry. lots of folks out of jobs with no relief in site. my work load had decreased to the point to where I was able to start a film company with two of my close friends. It has turned out to be very successful in a short time with us being a part of many live streams and music video work. check out our company here: https://www.stereophonicfilms.com
So as that company is growing the recording music industry is slowly coming back for me. I've had two tracking session come to me in October, when before that the last one for me was in February. Hopefully a sign that the music industry isn't doomed. I'll keep my head up and positive vibes flowing.
Cheers!!

Man, this pandemic, tornado business is a real drag here in middle TN, but we are staying positive here at Muggytone Productions.
Even Though the music business has taken a step back during these trying times I have been thankfully still working. Not only been fortunate to be able to continue to mix songs for clients, but playing drums as well. Had the pleasure to play drums on a 5/4 track by Dan Nichols called "This Too Shall Pass". As an instrumental track it gave me great freedom to explore my progressive style of drumming. A great change of pace to the boxed in style of the singer/songwriter style of songs that make up the majority of music city. although, playing the "meat and potatoes" can be just as rewarding if the songs hits the spot.
The Cerny Brothers have released a remixed version of "Days Of The Thunder" that my production partner , Nathan Meckel, and i knocked out of the park!!! Look for it on your preferred streaming site.
More updates to come this week as things are chuggin along.
peace!!

Yo, we are into the new year and things are starting to rev up for me.
Today, actually is a tracking day for The Cerny Bros. for a single on a song that they've had written for a while. today i'll get to play drums, engineer and co-produce that track with my bro in law Nathan Meckel. (the unstoppable Buzz Brothers). Maybe a new album from this year? hmmm..
well, this was just a quick note to keep it updated since i was able to get my hosting back online.
Check in with you all later.

A year has passed since my last news blurb, so this is overdue. Things that have happened so far this year...Hmmmm....
Well, I have been helping Kyle Cook (Matchbox 20) with his 2nd solo record. In addition to engineering I was asked to play drums on the first round of tunes. 9 to be exact. pulling double duty can be hard, but this was a complete joy. with only ideas for songs, we cut them like we used to when we were kids (accept we are wiser and understand song form). no melodies, lyrics or direct form were preconceived. none the less, we came out of that week with 9 complete song forms. and they are COOL!!!! until we finish the record you can access his site here www.kylecookmusic.com
Also, I was able to get back on The Aristocrats wild train. I mixed 5 songs on the new album titled "You Know What?". I wasn't originally slated to mix, but during the editing phase I was asked to do a practice mix. the result of beating out Tom Lord-Alge and Richard Chycki on test mixes landed me the majority of the album. One of their best sounding albums to date. Check them out here the-aristocrats-band.com
Gonna sign out now so that I can get back to work. More exciting things to come.
Peace

Well, fall is around the corner and a lot has happened over the summer. Been in the process of moving my family to our new home, but are still waiting on an electrical permit to close on my studio building. It's gonna be killer, I just have to be patient.
So, this summer was the "come back to Niemiec" summer filled with older clients.
First up was an old friend of mine Bryan Beller. (member of The Aristocrats and Joe Satriani". We spent many days of editing together this massive prog-rock record of his at Fishtank Studios. (Jack Campitelli) . This will be the official 3 solo album release to come to the public and let me tell you "this one is HUGE!!!". Lots of big guest artists on it. Petrucci, Hoglan, Kenelly to name a few. It's a pretty dense album with lots of time signature changes.
I would expect it to be released later this fall. check out Bryan here: bryanbeller.com/cms/
Also had the great privilege to be able to finish mixing the album I started with Kyle Cook (Matchbox 20) about 4 years ago. Good things do come to those who wait. All I can says "What A Great Album" for Kyle to present as his first solo effort. Not only is Kyle known for his abilities as the guitarist for Matchbox 20, but his is gifted with a great singing voice. Fans of Matchbox will surely dig this album, but it also crosses over to the AAA market too. I haven't stopped listening to the mixes since we've finished. They are that good!!!
Look for "Wolves" to be released this fall. www.kylecookmusic.com/
There is more to talk about, but my fingers are done. Until next time.

Been awhile since i've checked into my site an update so here it goes:
It's been an interesting start to the year. There have been a lot of small projects circling around in my hard drives over the past few months including some work with the legendary Country rapper Colt Ford, doing a track with the local duo The Cerney Bros. and local guitar/singer songwriter prodigy Grayson Word.
On a more global scale i have had the pleasure to be able to mix a few songs for Josh Kaufman, the winner of The Voice season 6. The record is in many stages of completion from three songs mixed to songs just being recorded. hopefully the record will be ready for release by the end of the year.
here is a link to Josh's website www.joshkaufmanmusic.com
There are some big things on the horizon so stay tuned for more info.
Cheers!!

As school kicks back in for the kiddos it's time for me to reflect back on the summer. Although we enjoyed lots of swimming, popsicles and I was able to get some work accomplished too.
To Kick the summer off in May The Buzz Bros. (myself and Nathan Meckel) co-produced a few tracks on a budding artist named Stevie Woodward.
Young, beautiful and talented doesn't even completely sum up this star in the making.
You can follow her here: www.facebook.com/StevieWoodward/
May also brought The Outervibe to The Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa.
This band of hardworking musicians can be the example of how to navigate the modern world of the music industry. From writing, performing, tour scheduling, web designing, and social media attentiveness they have single handedly created their own success. great people too!!!
You can catch them here: theoutervibe.com
Staying For The Weekend, Nashville native indie rock band, graced The Cowboy Arms Hotel and Recording Spa with their presence on May 23rd.
They brought a cool twist on the likes of Jet and The Strokes to our studio for a day. It went so well we will be seeing them return this fall to continue the process. Catch em' here: www.facebook.com/StayingForTheWeekend/
Our final Buzz bros. project in May came from a young soul that sings with and old heart. Grayson Word, a Nashville native, speaks to the likes of John Mayer and something in the vein of a vintage Motown vibe. His talents of guitar playing, songwriting and singing only get better by the day. We are currently in the process of writing new stuff to record this fall as well.
Check him out here and help by donating towards his cause: www.kickstarter.com/projects/657411437/the-debut-ep-for-17-year-old-grayson-word
June 2017
Aside from some small projects in the month of June to keep me busy the one bigger project came from a man name John Ramey.
Cut from the cloth from the likes of Johnny Cash and Chris Christopherson, he brings his own twist on the outlaw voice of country. Although he may sound in the vein of his predecessors, his lyrical content is unlike them. The album we cut consists of content from heart break to burning down a meth house next door. If you liked Coldplay's version of "Till Kingdom Come" then you will flip over Johns version as well as his energetically charged cover of the Jamestown Revival song "Love Is A Burden". I'll keep you updated on his cat as things develop. Follow him here: www.facebook.com/john.ramey.969
July 2017
Summer can be weird time in the music business with a lot of groups on the road, but we had the prielidge of working with a group hailing from baltimore named The Queen Earth Band. An interesting mix of acoustic soul and beatboxing is what makes up the heart of this group. From Missy's soulful vocals to Root's percussive beatboxing and Captain AWOL's melodic strummings somehow this trio creates an unique sound that only they can.
We are excited for their release coming this fall and also to be working with them on future songs. Follow them here: www.facebook.com/search/top/?q=the%20queenearth%20band%20-%20tqb
Thanks fro reading this lengthy update.

Matt Mc Andrew!!!! All I can say is this guy is the real deal. As the runner up in The Voice show you have to be
legit and Matt is more than that. Not only one of the most talented artist I worked with, but a kind hearted and respectful person all around.
Check out his new EP that I recorded and mixed along with Ryan Hewwit. Also produced by my good friend Mike Fiorentino.

Northcote!!! Not much to say here, but do yourself a favor and go buy this. Great music is coming out of Canada and Matt Goud represents the Great White North in a big way. Catchy tunes you sing along with and amazing production done by Dave Genn. Of course, yours truly mixing.

Had the pleasure to work with the legendary 80's pop Icon Alan Frew on his upcoming solo album.
The album is a collection of 80's hit standards, but done in an organic Nashville rendering.
Players on the session included Kyle Cook (Matchbox 20), John Coleman (Trace Adkins), Ryan Scarborough (A Thousand Horses) and David Santos (Billy Joel, John Fogerty)
Not only did I have the luxury of recording the session, but also as a mixer.
I'm super proud of this album and can't wait for the release later this year.
Peace!!!
